He has the big time equipment including big trucks with scoops and mini bobcats with pincers for loading tree debris and downed trees, a stump grinder and a long-armed aerial lift that took him into the crown of the tallest trees. It is a narrow machine that went through my 3’ gate. He is an arborist who knows the trees. He does all the pruning and shaping himself having discussed my wishes first. He kept his crew very busy. He cleared the scrubby overgrowth from the banks of the pond behind the house so we can enjoy the water view again. He removed branches overhanging the roof. He alerted me when he saw something unexpected to discuss options. They cleaned up well and hauled off all the debris. I can’t imagine how long it would take someone to physically climb each tree that he pruned from his machine in 2 1/2 days. He is a good communicator and he wasted no time. “Recommend VMG because the owner is the one who does the actual tree work. I first used him 15 years ago when he was starting out, and he continues to invest in his business with state of the art modern equipment and a local professional work crew. The machine has a 75 foot hydraulic lift bucket that was better than a large crane because it leaves an extremely small footprint on the ground that allows maneuverability around undergrowth. This protected the landscaping when he removed dead limbs and pruned my large white oak. None of my hydrangeas or azaleas were disturbed beneath the huge white oak where large limbs were removed that extended over our house. (His machine fits through a three foot wide gate and does not mark up driveways with its “white rubber” treads on the tracks.) The debris removal was thorough, and as they used leaf blowers to clean up, the yard looked better after they left! Even though I added work as he went along, John was very flexible with his time and pricing. I will definitely be calling him the next time we have tree work. My neighbors have also used him, and he is their “tree man”.”
